The Grand Pacific Hotel Suva was the one place in Fiji that we knew that we MUST stay at. A hotel that exuded the exotic sophistication of bygone days, of a time when travel to the Pacific was elegant and full of charm.
The hotel recently reopened in 2014. Not only does it have the unique feeling of being a colonial gem, but also is clearly new and fresh. From the moment you pull up to the imposing foyer, and an uniformed colonial doorman greets you, and then you step into the old world lobby, this is a stay to remember.
This hotel did not disappoint in any way and was an absolute highlight of our stay in Fiji. Read on to find out just how much The Grand Pacific Hotel met our expectations.

The Grand Pacific Hotel Suva Fiji Review
The existing colonial building has been thoughtfully upgraded so that the old world style gently melds into the modern. With clean lines and natural wood, it is unapologetic modernity. It all comes together to ooze style and class.
The clean lines of the swimming pool and expansive area at the back are a wonderful place for a cocktail (or a business meeting). It overlooks Suva’s dramatic mountain lined harbor full of boats. This is indeed a very dramatic backdrop for a drink.
While there is a business feel to the hotel, the kids were extremely welcome. There were a couple of other families staying during the time we were there. (Whether they were there for work or pleasure was more debatable!)
The room itself had a nice balcony, was reasonable sized, well decorated, and functional. The room had everything you would expect from a 5-star establishment, especially pillows of choice, and super comfortable beds.
WOTWK Grand Pacific Hotel Suva Tip:
Should you not have the budget for an overnight stay, still definitely put the Grand Pacific Hotel Suva on your Suva to do list. The pool is open for visitors to town if they want to have a swim (for a fee). Or, if you wish to wander the balconies that Queen Elizabeth has graced, consider a Sunday high Tea on the balcony for $55 FJ per person.

Did you book multiple rooms or could you fit two adults and two kids into 1 room? Their website says maximum capacity 2 people for all their rooms
Hi Brendan, We definitely stayed in one room, 2 adults and 2 kids. We booked through a travel agent though, so perhaps they were able to request this?
