If you are researching Khao Lak resorts, we invite you to consider the Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak, where we stayed. It is a sprawling resort on the beaches of Khao Lak Thailand that offers a wide range of accommodation styles and is extremely popular with families.
One of the main reasons the Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak is so popular is that it is extremely budget-friendly and has dedicated family residences. During the time we stayed the guests appeared to be about 70% of families, and most of them from Britain or Europe.
In addition to having a budget-friendly stay, the Centara Seaview Resort’s pools are quite simply incredible! The massive main pool stretches more than 50 meters and features a water slide, while the beachside pool is also large – and very pretty.

Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak Family Residences
The family residences are large two-bedroom apartments with a small kitchenette and a living room. The family rooms are located at the top of the resort right on the street next to McDonald’s. (Very convenient for kids who may be tiring of rice!) The family rooms are centered on a small kid’s playground so that you can let the kids out and play and watch them from the room.
The Sea View Resort Khao Lak family residences were fully booked the entire time we stayed. Having a large family room is obviously appealing for many families, as it is an excellent value for money option. The Seaview Resort has a wide range of room options, including villas and also hotel rooms. As with all of our advice, we recommend doing your own research. You might, for example, find your family would fit in the Splash Pool Villas which are scattered around the resort grounds between the main pool and reception area.
Keep in mind that while the family residences provide the largest amount of space they are also quite old, and seem very well-used!
Transport Around The Seaview Resort Khao Lak
The Centara Sea View Resort Khao Lak is huge – but then I suspect the other Khao Lak Resorts are rather large too. The Sea view resort had a golf buggy to move you around the resort. This was great as if the kids had tired legs it was easy just to call the buggy. By the same token, this worked well for aged legs (we were traveling with my mother) and on rainy days as we visited in the wet season.
Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak – Meals
We loved the included breakfast buffet – it included a large range of Western and Thai style meals. There was a special children’s buffet section as well which indicates just how many kids stay at this Khao Lak resort. Our kid’s loooooved this buffet!
The Sea View Resort had two on-site restaurants that were priced slightly more expensive than the restaurants on the main road. We ate at their buffet twice; each night the buffet had a different theme.
MacDonald’s – yes that’s right Macca’s with the golden arches, everyone’s favorite family restaurant was located immediately adjacent to the Centara Seaview Resort! In fact, it was no more than 30 meters from our room. Did we eat there? Of course – traveling with a child who has sensory issues (or is simply a fussy eater) we relied on McNuggets on more than a few occasions. We even chatted with other families who were staying at the Robinson Club Khao Lak and The Sands Khao Lak.
Seaview Resort Khao Lak Pools
The pools at this resort are BIG. Like massively big! In short, the kids will be in heaven! The top pool has several sections, including an adult’s only mountain pool. The large family pool provides plenty of space for laps if you feel like doing some exercise. One of the highlights of the resort was a water slide which proved very popular with all the kids.
We also enjoyed the quieter and smaller pools near the beach.
The beach at the Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak was never busy. We stayed at the end of the wet season and the ocean was rough and I didn’t let the children swim. There was also an obligatory rope swing, and we liked the little lighthouse!
The Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak had a modest kids club that you could utilize if you wish. We visited a couple of times and it didn’t seem busy or well patronized compared to other kid’s clubs we experienced. We did the pizza making activity and enjoyed it very much!

The Final Verdict – Centara Seaview Resort
If you are looking for value for money, unpretentious Khao Lak Resorts, then you can’t go past the Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak. It is a mid-range family resort that lacks some polish of the more expensive resorts but is good value for money and family-friendly. We would stay again in a heartbeat.
Other Khao Lak Resorts With Kids
We wandered through the Khaolak Laguna Resort which was on the same beach as the Centara. The villas looked large and lovely; the facilities stunning.
An upscale property, with several types of bungalows (some with their own plunge pool). While it is more suited for adults, it is also a great family Khao Lak resort. This resort offers on-site dining options and a kids club. There are lots of activities from archery to Zumba. Many family travelers say to inquire about discounts for families before booking.
This unique Khao Lak resort is separated into three different sections depending on your vacation goals; to rest, to play, or to refresh. They have great family fun packages that they advertise. Also, there are many kid facilities which include a ball house, trampolines, outdoor playgrounds and more. If you are looking for a secluded Khao Lak resort this is not the one but if you are looking for a family-friendly, kid-centric resort this is it.
